Paratha is the most traditional breakfast in Pakistani homes. Basically paratha is layered bread with butter ghee inside, There are literally tons of ways how you can layer them. But this lacha paratha is my favourite type. It needs a little bit more effort but the end result is most satisfying flaky layered bread, I cook it often on Sunday to enjoy a slow cozy morning. Enjoy the recipe!

Ingredients
2 cups all purpose flour
3/4 cup of water
1/4 cup of full fat milk
1/2 tsp salt
2 tbsp oil
2 tbsp cold butter
Filling
4-6 tbsp melted butter
2 minced garlic
1/4 tsp salt
Method
Add salt and oil in the flour and stir.
Knead the dough using both water and milk.
When it comes together, leave it in a greased bowl for about 20 minutes.
Meanwhile melt the butter on a very low heat. Add some garlic and salt in it.
Make 5 dough balls and cover them.
Sprinkle some flour on the kitchen slab and roll out one of the ball into a very thin layer.
Use a brush to spread some of the butter on the layer and sprinkle a teaspoon of dry flour on top.
Roll out the next ball and place the layer on top of it. Again, spread out the garlic butter on it.
Keep repeating this step until all the balls are gone. Spread out one last garlic butter and flour on top.
Then fold all the layers in half. Starting from one side, fold them into one big wheel roll.
Cut the roll in five equal pieces. It will look like a pin wheel.
Sprinkle flour on the slab, then roll out one of the pieces like a normal flat bread, Keep an appropriate thickness.
Then put in a pre heated pan at high heat. Cook from each side until it's done. It will take about 5-6 minutes. Rub butter on both sides.
Enjoy it with Pakistani style omelette or some leftover curries or some chickpea curry.
Notes
Use water with care while kneading. Depending on the quality of flour, you may need a bit less or more amount.
Do not make the bread very thin, otherwise it will be stiff within no time.
