Frozen Chocolate Yogurt Bars

Well who doesn't want the idea of making ahead dessert? Wether it's for a big gathering or just for yourself, something you could enjoy during any time of the week without having to go in the trouble of making the dessert. So here is a quick yogurt bar recipe which you can easily turn into breakfast with simple changes (See notes at the end of this recipe)

Ingredients


2 cups rolled oats

10 dates

2 tbsp coconut oil

1 tsp salt

1/2 cup peanut butter

1-2 tbsp water (optional)


2 cups thick yogurt

200 ml heavy cream

200 gm bitter sweet chocolate

1 tsp vanilla

50 gm chocolate chips (optional)






Method

  1. Put the oats, pitted dates, peanut butter, coconut oil, water and salt in a food processor. Pulse it until it comes together.

  2. Line a tray with the parchment paper and take out the mixture in the dish.

  3. Spread the mixture evenly with the help of a spatula and refrigerate.

  4. Chop the chocolates.

  5. Warm up the cream on a double boiler and add chocolate. Incorporate the chocolate well into the cream until it becomes silky smooth.

  6. Whisk the yogurt and add chocolate ganache. Mix it well and then add chips in it.

  7. Take out the tray from refrigerator, pour the chocolate yogurt in the tray. You can sprinkle some chocolate chips on the top as well.

  8. Freeze it minimum for 4 hours.

  9. Take it out from the freezer and let it sit at room temperature for 10-15 minutes.

  10. Cut in small rectangles and put them in the food containers. Place a parchment paper in between the layers.

  11. Freeze them and take out whenever you need to enjoy a bite.

Notes

  1. If you want to make it with low calories, skip the cream, use half of the melted chocolate in the yogurt,

  2. If the yogurt is not thick enough, use a cheesecloth to drain any access water out.
